I’ve been waiting and expecting for spring to come. More than I ever have in my entire life! Spring always brings a rush of excitement for me. For me, it ushers in my favorite half of the year… the warmer half. But just as much as I want to rush winter and make it spring, the season will only come in its time. And there’s nothing I can do about it. That’s kind of what we like to do about the ‘winter seasons’ in our life. We like to fast forward to spring. But guess what? Sometimes, we can’t do anything about it. The season needs to run its course. In the Scripture it says, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
It just comes down to trust. In Jeremiah 17:7 it says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.” We can only do what we can do, at the time, as best as we can. The rest we got to have faith that it’s going to work out. Sometimes it feels like spring is never going to come. Winter snowstorms try to persist even in April, but guess what? Spring comes. No matter how hard the winter is. It’s something that I’ve had to learn and continue learning. Man, I’m excited for spring!
