Top 3 Beauty Oils I Use For Skin & Hair

Updated: May 23, 2022

I’m a person who gets a lot of acne. I had it when I was a teenager and I still have it now. Those of you who have clear skin are extremely blessed. I had never considered using oils for my face and hair because the first thought is, “Why would I make something oily more oily?” The funny thing is, natural good oils actually get rid of bad oils and keep you moisturized at the same time.

I noticed that my skin and hair never get the moisture I’m looking for with regular lotions and conditioners. I wanted something that was natural and had no harsh chemicals. I learned that oil-based moisturizers really snap dryness way better than non-oil based moisturizers. It really soaks into the skin and lasts longer.

However, everyone’s skin and hair are different, so you have to find out which oils work best for you. It’s important to know your skin type, and do your research. Most of the time you only need a couple of drops to use these.

I’m still figuring out which oils I want to incorporate into my beauty routine and there are many of them out there. For now, there are three oils that I use consistently for my skin and hair.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is my number one moisturizing oil. I use it for everything. I use it when I wash and moisturize my hair. I use it for my dehydrated skin. I even moisturize my cuticles and chapped lips. As a beauty product, it is really cheap to get. I just buy a big jar of extra-virgin olive oil that is cold-pressed. Then I take some out from that, put it in a little spritzer and use it.

Olive oil originates from the Mediterranean, and was the top beauty oil used in the Ancient world. Today it is gaining in popularity again. Olive oil is high in antioxidants and vitamins. It has Vitamins A, D, E, and K, all very important for skin and hair.

This oil is famous for helping fight wrinkle formations, skin cancer and a host of dry-skin problems. It also makes your hair shiny and helps it from falling out.

There are way too many benefits of olive oil for the skin and hair, that you cannot afford to skip it. There’s a reason Cleopatra used it.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil that is famous for treating acne and inflammation. It’s an amazing cleanser as well. I use this to treat any acne that I get and any skin reactions. It will calm it right down. I also use it when I wash my hair because it gets rid of the dryness on my scalp. It also adds a shine to it, strangely enough.

Tea tree oil comes from Australia and when you get a bottle make sure it’s from there. Tea tree oil kills bacteria on your face. It also kills bacteria around your house and food, you can incorporate it as a cleanser for the home. It also scares bugs away! This oil magically gets rid of dryness but it also gets rid of oiliness.

Tea tree oil also works for fungal infections, like the ones you can get around you toes. When I put this on my skin I mix it with a little olive oil, to balance out the strength of tea tree oil. For acne, I use it as a spot treatment. For my hair, I mix it with my shampoo.

Rosehip Oil

I’ve just started getting into rosehip oil. This oil is super moisturizing and has great anti-aging benefits. I use this mostly for my face and hair to give it a moisturized feel.

Rosehip oil can be harvested around different parts of the world, but most of it comes from South America. Rosehip oil has a lot of Vitamin A and C which helps with skin discoloration and wrinkles. It helps fade scars and brightens the skin. This oil immediately soaks into the skin and you don’t feel any residue.

Rosehip oil is a really good option for skin and hair. This is the one oil that has a natural retinol effect for the skin. It is one of the most popular beauty oils right now and used by many celebrities.

That’s all for now!
