When it came to decorating my bedroom, I knew I wanted it to feel like my personal haven. It’s my favorite room in my apartment and the space where I truly get to unwind at the end of the day—or even work from home sometimes. Also I’ll often just sit on my bed and stare out the window, with a cup of coffee or tea, simply because the room feels so peaceful. My goal was to create a space that feels calm, comforting, and elevated, much like a hotel room you never want to leave.

Every December, I plan a time to work on what I call my “vision packet" for the following year. I usually find a spot at a cute café with big windows, where there is soft chatter in the background, and the smell of coffee warming the air. I order something simple and comforting and settle in with a latte and my laptop. Napoleon Hill once wrote that “a goal is a dream with a deadline,” and that’s exactly the energy I bring into this time.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you already know I share a lot of myself online. Pretty coffee shots, travel snapshots, cozy home corners, outfits I love… the curated pieces of my everyday. And if you looked at the photo from this shoot — the one where I’m sitting calmly on a stool, smiling under perfect lighting — you’d probably think it was effortless. But here’s the truth: this moment was anything but effortless.

I used to have a pretty specific idea of how life was supposed to look by now. There was a timeline in my head, one I assumed everyone else was following too — with the major milestones checked off in just the right order. I figured by this point, I’d have more certainty, more clarity, maybe even a few more answers.

The cherry blossoms were almost in full bloom that day. Standing beneath them, I felt a quiet stillness in the air—like nature herself was holding her breath. The buds, just shy of opening, were soft, pink, and full of promise. And somehow, they mirrored exactly how I felt: not quite there yet, but close.
