5 Things to Do in Burlington this Fall (2026)

Fall gives summer some pretty good competition. There’s just something about this time of year that hits differently. Cooler weather, but not too cold, changing leaves, cozy drinks, and all the little seasonal things that make you want to get outside and actually enjoy it.  

Fun fact: If you know me, I love Hallmark movies and country music. And fall is the best time to get into those vibes!

It’s also one of the best times to experience Burlington outdoors before it gets too cold. You can spend the day pumpkin or apple picking, try something sweet and seasonal, check out a fall festival, or just take in the changing colours around the city.

Here are five things to do in Burlington this fall in 2026.

1. Attend Various Fall Events

There are quite a few fall events happening in and around Burlington this year, from community festivals to full-on pumpkin season. Here are a few to put on your calendar.

Appleby Line Street Festival - Sept 20

The Appleby Line Street Festival is a free community event taking over Appleby Line between Fairview Street and New Street, with nearly 150 vendors, food trucks, live music, a kids zone, and plenty happening throughout the afternoon.

Nickel Brook Brewing Oktoberfest - Sept 26

Nickel Brook’s Burlington taproom is bringing back Oktoberfest with craft beer, food, live music, and plenty of Oktoberfest energy. This year’s event is also in support of the Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton, with doors opening at 6 p.m.

Harvest Festival at Bronte Creek - Sept 26-27

Bronte Creek Provincial Park’s annual Harvest Festival takes you back to harvest season at historic Spruce Lane Farm. Expect pumpkin picking, apple cider pressing, wagon rides, heritage demonstrations, seasonal food, and more.

Fall Harvest Market by Street Eats - Sept 26-27 and Oct 3-4

Street Eats Market is bringing its Fall Harvest Market to 1016 Waterdown Road in Aldershot for two weekends this fall. The free outdoor market will feature food vendors and seasonal fall vibes, making it an easy stop if you’re looking to grab something to eat and enjoy the season without making a whole day out of it.

The Great Pumpkin Trail at RBG - Oct 15-18 and Oct 23-25

Royal Botanical Gardens transforms Hendrie Park with thousands of real pumpkins, including hundreds of glowing jack-o’-lanterns along the trail. There are also seasonal food options, live entertainment, and pumpkin-themed activities throughout the experience.

2. Visit Local Farms for Pumpkins & Apples

Fall and farm season basically go hand in hand, and Burlington is in a really good location for it.  You can stay right in the city for pumpkins and apples or drive a little farther for some of the bigger farm experiences.

Hutchinson Farm

If you want something that feels like an actual working farm rather than a huge attraction, Hutchinson Farm is a great local option. It’s especially known for its fall pumpkin selection, along with squash, gourds, and other farm-fresh produce.

Applevale Orchards

5144 Derry Rd. Burlington

Applevale Orchards is one of Burlington’s own apple orchards, making it an easy fall outing without having to leave the city. The farm storefront is open now, and U-Pick apples are also available during the harvest season.

Dyment's Farm Market & Bakery

416 Fallsview Rd. E. Dundas

Dyment’s really comes into its own during the fall. Along with its market and bakery, October brings its Pumpkin Patch Family Fun Weekends, so you can easily make a whole afternoon out of it.

Springridge Farm

7256 Bell School Line, Milton

Springridge is always a good fall stop for its farm market, bakery, and classic country atmosphere. Between the seasonal baked goods, pumpkins, and farm experience, it definitely feels made for this time of year.

Chudleigh's Entertainment Farm

Apple picking is what Chudleigh’s is probably best known for, and fall is the perfect time to experience it. Beyond the orchard, there are wagon rides, farm animals, trails, play areas, food, and enough going on to make it a full-day outing.

3. Try some Local Fall Sips and Treats

Fall is basically the perfect excuse to find a cozy coffee shop and see what seasonal flavours are showing up on the menu.

Whether it’s a pumpkin-flavoured drink, something with apple or cinnamon, or just a really good fall-inspired baked treat, these Burlington spots are worth checking out.

Peach Coffee Co. - multiple Burlington locations

Peach Coffee Co. is a Burlington original, with several locations around the city, making it an easy one to add to your fall coffee rotation. Between the specialty drinks, baked goods, and cozy café atmosphere, it already fits the season perfectly.

Kelly's Bake Shoppe - 461 Brant St.

Kelly’s is obviously known for its treats, so it’s an easy place to check when seasonal flavours start showing up. If you’re looking for something sweet to go with your coffee while you’re downtown, this is one to add to the list.

Tribeca Coffee Co. - 2003 Lakeshore Rd.

Right downtown and close to the waterfront, Tribeca is known for its coffee and specialty drinks. It’s also an easy stop to pair with a fall walk along the lake.

Centro Noca - 590 Brant St.

Centro Noca is part café, part gelato stop, and part beautifully curated shop. Between coffee, house-made gelato, and rotating flavours, it’s another great place to check for something seasonal this fall.

4. See the Fall Colours

One of the best things about Burlington in the fall is that you really don’t have to go very far to get those full Ontario autumn views.

Between the Niagara Escarpment, conservation areas, gardens, and trails, there are so many beautiful places to see the leaves change.

Bronte Creek Provincial Park

With wooded trails, open parkland, and plenty of space to walk around, Bronte Creek is an easy place to spend a fall afternoon. You can also pair it with the Harvest Festival earlier in the season. Such an amazing spot!

Mount Nemo Conservation Area

Mount Nemo is probably one of the best fall hikes around Burlington. The trails run along the Niagara Escarpment and lead to lookout points with beautiful views over the surrounding landscape… especially once the leaves start changing. Literally a haven.

Royal Botanical Gardens

RBG is beautiful in every season, but fall gives the gardens and surrounding nature trails a completely different look. It’s an easy place to spend a few hours walking, exploring, and taking in the colours. It’s a fairytale.

Kerncliff Park

Kerncliff Park is one of Burlington’s quieter nature spots, with wooded trails, wetlands, boardwalks, and the old quarry area. It’s a nice option if you just want to go for a peaceful fall walk without making a whole day out of it.

5. Events Worth Checking out this Fall

Not everything worth doing this fall fits into the typical pumpkins, coffee, and changing leaves category. There are also a few things happening around Burlington that are a little different… and very specific to 2026.

WANDER at the BPAC - Sept 26

As part of Culture Days and BPAC’s 15th Anniversary Season, WANDER is a free afternoon arts experience that takes over different spaces throughout the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.

As you wander through the building, you’ll come across dance, music, acrobatics, visual art, spoken word, interactive installations, and other unexpected performances. The free Culture Days experience begins at 1 p.m.

There’s also a special paid WANDER experience beginning at 7 p.m. that takes the concept into the evening with additional performances, special tours, food and drink experiences, and a few extra surprises.

Vote in the Municipal Elections - Oct 26

Okay, this one is definitely a different kind of thing to do this fall. But it only happens every four years, and it’s an important one.

Municipal elections are your opportunity to have a say in the people making decisions that directly affect Burlington. Being aware, getting informed, and participating is one of the simplest ways to contribute to the future and overall benefit of the city.

It might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of fall activities, but it only comes around every four years. Being aware of what’s happening in your city and taking the time to vote is an important way to participate and contribute to Burlington’s future.

REVEL26 at Art Gallery of Burlington - Nov. 6

To finish off the fall season, the Art Gallery of Burlington is bringing back REVEL for another year. REVEL26: Behind the Velvet Curtain is being described as the AGB’s “secret rendezvous” and one of Burlington’s big nights out.

The full details are still being revealed, but if previous REVEL events are anything to go by, this is one to keep on your radar if you like art, entertainment, and a night out that’s a little different from the usual. Save the date for November 6 at the Art Gallery of Burlington.

The Way I See It

Fall in Burlington has a different energy, and its uniqueness is what makes it so beautiful.

You can go from a festival one weekend to apple or pumpkin picking the next, find a new seasonal sip or treat, get outside and take in the changing leaves, or check out something completely different happening around the city.

There’s only a small window where everything feels colourful, cozy, and perfectly fall… so enjoy it while it lasts. ||
