Coffee shops in Burlington have a little bit of everything. I love the variety; whether it’s the vibe or the location, the one thing that connects my favourite spots is a good cup of coffee.

If you’ve ever seen Gilmore Girls you know, “I need coffee in an IV.” Your girl here needs her fix. There are so many great spots, but these are my top five coffee shops in Burlington.

1. Pearle's Cafe

If you know me, you know I’m always at Pearle’s Cafe. Located inside The Pearle Hotel by the waterfront, it’s constantly buzzing with energy; people coming and going, meeting up, and just enjoying the atmosphere.

It’s easily the top spot for meetups, especially if you’re looking for that luxurious vibe with a big city, downtown feel. Their coffee supplier is Reunion Coffee Roasters, based in Oakville.

Their honey oat latte is my go-to order every time, and it pairs perfectly with their power cookie. Whether you’re catching up with a friend or just grabbing something for yourself don’t miss this spot.

2. School Specialty Coffee

You don’t usually expect a true coffee connoisseur spot inside a mall; but School Specialty Coffee, located in Mapleview Centre, is exactly that. Think of it as getting “schooled” on all things coffee, right in the middle of your shopping day.

It’s the perfect place to pause, recharge, and grab something to drink before heading to your next store. School Specialty also serve great snacks, including their amazing avocado toasts.

They obtain their coffee through multiple suppliers, including the Toronto-based Java Roasters. My go-to is their Nutella latte. And honestly, it tastes just as good as it sounds.

3. Kelly's Bake Shoppe

Kelly’s Bake Shoppe flagship location is moving back to Burlington this summer. Burlington is their original home base; and will be again soon. They also have a location in Oakville; but Burlington is where it all started.

Kelly's is known as the No. 1 gluten-free bakery in Canada, making it a must-visit for dessert lovers. Their coffee supplier is Pilot Coffee Roasters, based in Toronto.

While it’s not strictly a coffee shop, their vanilla latte is so good. Pair it with their famous Skinny Cookie and you’ve got the perfect treat. The whole place just has that cozy, feel-good, Hallmark movie energy.

4. Unbound Coffee + Gelato

New kid on the block in the Aldershot neighbourhood, Unbound Coffee & Gelato brings something different. The combination of high-quality coffee and gelato echoes the way cafés in Europe pair the two— simple, elevated, and done really well.

The space itself is clean and modern, with bonus points for having a kids’ play corner, which makes it such an easy, relaxed stop for families.

Their coffee supplier is Hale Coffee Company, based in Toronto. Their mocha latte is my go-to, especially paired with a gelato or their matcha pistachio cookie.

5. Tribeca Coffee Co.

Tribeca Coffee Co., is the best spot to feel like you’re in New York City— white subway tiles and all. This cozy little café in downtown Burlington offers sandwiches and a selection of great treats, making it a perfect casual stop any time of day.

They obtain their coffee through multiple suppliers, including the local Firebat Coffee Roasters. The Burlington location is their second one; with their first one located in Oakville.

Their banana bread latte, which is my go-to, has even gone TikTok-famous. Once you try it, you’ll understand why. It’s seriously good.

The Way I See It

Burlington’s coffee scene really does have it all— whether it’s waterfront views, cozy corners, or hidden gems.

These are the kind of places you go once, take that first sip, and keep coming back to. Check them out and find your new go-to. ||
